Easter 2009

We had one problem this year, the Easter Bunny had to improvise the Annual Easter egg hunt because it was snowing! So as smart as the good ol' Easter Bunny is, he decided to do it indoors, and turn the hunt into fishing for Easter surprises! It was really cute and fun.



The kids loved fishing for prizes. They all got really neat things.

This is Jordan fishing...right before he pulled the fishing pole out and knocked poor Kennedy in the head (she is in the white shirt and piggy tails).


The Easter egg hunting bunch...all cousins, Left to Right: Madison, Nicole, Rylee holding Kennedy, Danielle, Angie (friend), Marci, Seth (Brett's son), and I think that is Jordan coming out of the room. Jer and Lindsay did such a great job of hosting the egg hunt!



We celebrated Easter Day in St. George at the Resort this year. The Easter Bunny special this year was edible grass. The kids thought it was great. It tasted like green apples.



Hudson got this little toy that hooks onto his carrier. When you push one of the frogs eyes, it plays music. It was great entertainment while traveling.



Among scrapbooking stuff for Madi, and an Airsoft Gun for Jordan, the Easter Bunny left 4 tickets for Kenny Chesney, Sugarland and a couple more singers in concert on July 23. The kids were really excited...first "real" concert for them.

Hudson at 7 months!

Happy 7 months! This pic was taken on April 22...exactly 7 months (thanks for remembering to take it Madi). He is doing really good. He does not look preemie anymore. He makes big monster noises, and when he gets sleepy, he makes a screeching high pitched sound. He is loving baby food, rolling over, almost sitting up, and becoming to get a little temper. He has a cell phone toy that he will play with for about 5 minutes, then literally looking at it and cooing at it in kind of a mean voice as he's making angry facial expressions. I still have yet to find out why he gets so mad at that toy!



He loves, loves, loves to chew on his feet! And of course anything else that can go in his mouth!

On April 4, 2009 at Jeremy & Lindsay's new home at the Easter egg hunt, Hudson rolled over to his tummy for the first time. Hurray Hudson! Sorry kind of a bad pic.

Our trip to St. George Apr. 10-19

This is at Pirates Cove. It is such a fun place. We ate, then you can go and play those fun games that give you a bunch of tickets. Joel really scored on the tickets. I think between all of us we had about 525 tickets...so the kids could get a piece of bubble gum! j/k...they got some fun little toys.



The Dinosaur museum. I loved this museum because a developer found it by mistake. Here's the scoop...the man that owned the land decided to level the ground down, so that he could make it more appealing to sell. Well, as he started getting deeper, he ran into the rock. Well, he tried to make the best of it, and started cutting into the rock and selling off the rock to residents for landscaping purposes. One day, he had a large rock in his loader, and the rock flipped over and right there was a big dinosaur imprint (above). The rest is history. He stopped cutting rock, and they built a museum around it. It's kind of cool though because this is one of five museums that show a dinosaur moving from a sitting position to getting up and walking. It was fun!

The Diva girls found matching hats and purses at Target...who could say no to that purchase with those cute faces. In fact, Kelly and I overheard the girls say "our moms rock!". So hey, whatever it takes to be a mom that "Rocks!".

Reilly's Baptism!

Our trip started out with a visit to the Instacare in St. George for Hudson. It seems like we barely got to the resort, and instantly he started coughing and wheezing. It scared me! We took him in to the Dr. and he had both ears infected and needed a couple treatments with the nebulizer (sp?). We felt sooo bad for him, but he really didn't fuss to much and was really brave. We started the antibiotics and he did pretty well through the whole trip.


Here is our cute inspiration for our trip... our niece Reilly. Her family lives in St. George, and we had never been to their home, how bad is that...they have lived there 3 years I think! So what a great reason to go down, to attend Reilly's baptism! Reilly looked gorgeous! She was just glowing before and after she got baptized and confirmed. We are so proud of her that she made the decision to get baptized. Reilly, you are such a sweetheart and such a good example. We love you!

I have to give out a BIG THANKS to the Harris' for keeping us entertained, feeding us ham, ha ha! Giving me Visine, and just taking time out their busy schedule to spend time with us. We LOVED being with your family and letting the cousins get to know each other more. I think it is so cute how Madi and Reilly are little soul mates, and Jace is so cute how he gets along so well with Jordan. I thought of Jace the other day when we ate and Wendys...I almost mailed a Wendys cup to him! Hayden is so easy going, she just goes with the flow. Jordan loved building the rocket with Lance and launching it. You guys have a beautiful family and gorgeous home. Oh, and best of all, thanks Kelly for introducing me to the great stores down there! I had a lot of fun shopping with you. (Oh Stop!!!)

Meet Bernard

While we were in St. George, we went to Barnes and Noble. As we were looking around, I spotted a big display of darling stuffed animals to accompany the book. Well, I took Hudson over to it to see if he showed any special interest in any...I was really trying to get him to like Thumper or the really colorful elephant, or caterpillar. All the sudden he was just reaching, reaching and I couldn't figure out which one it was until I saw the Wild Thing! I pulled the monster out and Hudson was just happy as could be. So, we now have a new stuffed animal member of the family...a Wild Thing named Bernard. Don't forget, "baby" (Madi's doll) is still a very loved animal, along with "Booty" (Joel's bear that he passed down to Jordan).


Bernard is a little scary looking, but some of the noises Hudson makes sound just like something that would come out of a monster's mouth! He's really cute when you see how much Hudson loves him :)

Hudson's 6 month checkup...

Hudson is growing tall, tall, tall! He is about 28" tall (92 percentile), and weighs 16.6 lbs (34 percentile), and his head circumference is in the 6 percentile. So, he's tall and skinny with a small head! He is sitting up with support, grabbing for things with his hands and feet together, he is eating rice on a regular basis now, without tummy aches, and I just gave him carrots yesterday and he loved it! He loves to play with his feet, and is such a smiley boy. I love the funny noises he makes...he still makes that frog noise with his throat, and now he will communicate with you if you make the sound too, he will make it back.

Hudson has had a rash on his belly and back that spread to the arms and legs over the last couple months. The doctor finally resolved it! After blood tests for milk allergies, changing over to Soy milk, then back to regular milk, and all sorts of cremes, they resolved that it is Eczema. So, we are really glad to get to the bottom of this "mysterious rash"! The doctor prescribed another creme (Steroid creme) that is clearing up the rash really well! Finally Hudson is getting that baby soft skin again.

Jordan is 12!!

Gosh, it just seems like yesterday when he was just born! They grow up fast! Turning 12 is a big step...graduating from primary (Jordan couldn't get out of there quick enough), he earned his "Faith In God" award for setting goals and achieving them throughout his primary years. Biggest of all though, he received the Priesthood. It is great to have two priesthood holders in our family. He was ordained a Deacon on March 8. It was so nice to have such great support from both sides of the family present when he received the Priesthood...and of course after the ordination we all came back to the house and had dinner.
We are really proud of Jordan and the goals he sets on his own, and keeps them. He is a good kid. I hope the very best for him and the goals he has set for his future.
This last month has been a bit difficult for him because his best buddy Truman is moving. Jordan and Truman have been friends since they were 6. We hate to see their family leave the neighborhood :(

Jordan had a birthday party with his friends or I guess now, it's just "hangin' out". I told Jordan we would do a party, and to just to make me a list of the friends he was inviting (I was expecting up to 6 kids) well, he brought me back the list of 15 kids! Easy enough...Boys like balls right? So they played Dodge Ball at the church, ordered tons of pizza and cake and called it good. I have to ask though...when is it "not cool" to have balloons at a birthday party? I can't figure that one out... I love balloons! I later learned though that boys at this age just use them for the helium consumption, so it's probably good we didn't have balloons. I still sent out cute birthday party invites though he he . It was a lot of fun though... Joel bought a bunch of dodge balls, so they were flying everywhere, it was great.

Hudson loves to jump, so we got him a "johnny jump up" he looks so little in it! He loves it.

Hudson is getting so big...he is 5 months now. He is starting to hold his head up well, and loves to sit up, and he coos REALLY loud! He is still just a little snugly guy though. He weighs 15 pounds now, and is quite tall! It is fun to start seeing some little baby fat rolls on his legs. He is having a little bit of a hard time with the solids, his stomach is just getting used to it, but maybe someday he can eat more than just rice :) We tried other cereals, and he just gets a belly ache, so maybe in a month we can try different cereals again. It's interesting how I was told he would have a hard time getting on a normal schedule with sleeping and things (just where he was preemie). How true it is! With Jordan and Madi by 6-8 weeks, they were sleeping through the night, taking a morning and afternoon nap, but with cute little Hudson...he takes little cat naps and just barely started sleeping through the night. I know a lot of kids don't sleep through the night for a year or so, but I can tell he's my cute little preemie guy. He is so fun. Luckily he is a great baby (not fussy to much).

Happy Birthday Joel!

On February 19, Joel turned 34! He's getting so old! I think he had a nice birthday...he received a lot of books which he loves! He is the best guy in the world. He is such a great father and wonderful husband. I am so lucky to have him. On a side note...he posed for this picture, he said he looked "studious".


This is the birthday card the kids and I gave him. It is huge! It's about 13x13 and when you open it, it plays the chicken song with the accordion. I love the accordion! Joel got a good chuckle out of it.


That evening we went to the Spaghetti factory for his birthday dinner. It was fantastic! One glitch in the experience was that when the waiter was delivering drinks, he was holding the tray right over Hudson (he was in his car seat) and the waiter got a little tipsy and my drink started falling on Hudson and in mid air, Joel batted the cup away in which it sprayed all over another waiter. All I could do is laugh, and Joel luckily had great reflex to spray the drink over someone else than Hudson. It was awesome, we even got a free meal for the experience.

Valentines Day!

For Valentines Day, we made sugar cookies! I know, pretty traditional, but for my kids...it's a treat since I haven't enjoyed cooking until recently. It pretty much took the whole day (well at least half) to complete them. It was fun to watch the kids play with the dough and I think they ate about half the batch of dough.


They were not just making hearts, they were cutting out airplanes, animals, and their favorite was a ice cream cone. I had to remind them that we needed to make a few hearts.


The cutest and sweetest thing was the kids (except Hudson) each made something for Joel and I for Valentines day. Jordan made some heart toast covered with red strawberry jam with conversation hearts all around. Jordan even served mine with a diet coke!

Madi made us a sack full of goodies, and attached to the outside is a bag full of nacho chips with a label on the top that says "I love you" she had this gift ready about a week before Valentines day. What a little sweetheart!

Oh! Sweet Baby

Hudson looks so sweet in this picture, I couldn't help myself but to take a snap! I added the darling baby blankets to my Glistenings line. I'm really excited to get the new products coming in, and yes, I'll still have my jewelry and purses. Winter Hibernation!

January seemed like the longest month ever! We are all looking forward for spring weather.

We love a good Jazz game. Maddie loves to watch the Jazz bear and Okur (I think she might have a little crush on Okur). Maddie just came in the room and saw what I just wrote and wants to make a disclaimer about Okur. Here it goes... she does not have a crush on him, she likes him because he makes all the shots (he wasn't making them that night though). Anyway, The Jazz bear threw us over a bucket of popcorn, so the popcorn flew over everyone and ended up in our hands with about half the bucket left, and we all had popcorn confetti all over us :) Jordan is fun to watch at the games because he just sits and absorbs everything.

Yes, I am starting to put pictures of myself for the blog (I refused to while I was pregnant). Isn't Jordan a cutie?
One of the biggest events during January is Maddie lost 3 teeth in January. The tooth fairy is going broke! She looks so cute when she talks...she has a little lisp where she is missing all those teeth! The best is when she gives you a big ol' grin!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MOM!! On January 11, we celebrated moms birthday over at Jer and Lindsays home. Lindsay made that gorgeous cake. She is so talented!
Hudson turned 4 months old and got to start rice cereal. He really likes it now. At first, he would just let it sit on his tongue and coo really loud as the cereal was flying all over. He is a funny little guy.
